NEW ROCHELLE, New York– New Rochelle Emergency Officials are investigating after a morning fire destroyed a church in downtown New Rochelle. NRFD Responded to calls for fire in a church early in the morning and with the help of mutual aid companies were able to control the fire. The fire went to multiple alarms causing the need for mutual aid Fire Departments to respond from other Westchester County districts. The investigation into the cause is still ongoing, An ATF Police Officer was spotted indicating possibly a suspicious cause investigation. The fire caused major damage to Zoin Baptist Church located at 50 Lockwood Ave, it is unclear if the owners will rebuild.
