Holiday Crowds Flood Midtown Streets, NYPD Moves In For Crowd Control

MIDTOWN– NYPD officers had to requested help for crowd control during the Saturday night holiday tourist rush between Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Although the massive crowds during this time of the year are expected and very common it appears because warmer weather then usual larger crowds have decended onto Midtown. Around 7:30 PM Last night NYPD called a Level 1 Mobilization which is fancy for saying any Officer available in the area to come assist. West 49th Street and 6th Ave is where the largest of the crowds took over forcing closures of 7th Ave and 6th Ave to vehicular traffic. No injuries or arrests were reported.
