FDNY Honors Member Who Passed Away Helping At MVA

BROOKLYN, New York– FDNY laid to rest today another one of its many heroes. FDNY Firefighter Stephen Pollard was on the job only for a year and a half. He was known as a great family man and a great firefighter all around. Firefighter Stephen Pollard was on scene of a motor vehicle accident on the Mill Basin Bridge in Brooklyn, New York. Last Monday on that bridge Ladder 170 and Firefighter Pollard responded to and operated on scene of an MVA which involved a overtured car and persons trapped. Firefighter Stephen Pollard and his brothers crossed over the Westbound barrier to get over to the Eastbound side, Firefighter Pollard would end up slipping through a 3 inch gap and fall 52 feet down to the ground. Firefighter Pollard was transported to a local Emergency Room where he would soon after pass away from his injuries. Today FDNY honored him with a funeral in Marine Park, Brooklyn with a full police escort and flyover. Below you can see photos and videos from today.
