Five Alarm Fire Burns Through Homes And Buisneses On Atlantic Ave

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn, New York– FDNY Firefighters battled a five alarm fire on Atlantic Ave this morning. The Fire was first reported as an odor of smoke just after 10 AM. When fire officials arrived they confirmed fire on the second floor and began to attack the flames. NYPD was requested for traffic control shortly before 10:30 AM. Fire from the original location spread to neighboring homes and businesses but was brought under control around 12:00 PM. The were 4 injuries reported by EMS two of which were to firefighters and the other two were to civilians. All injuries are minor and the cause of the fire is under investigation. NYC Emergency Management cautions neighbors to keep windows closed during fires do to air quality. American Red Cross is on hand to help displaced individuals with disaster relief services.
