FDNY Battle 3 Alarm Fire In Queens Commercial Building

COLLEGE POINT, Queens, New York– FDNY responded to calls for fire in an a commercial building at 8 AM. When firefighters arrived they found 128-20 14th Ave to be fully involved. Firefighters battled the blaze in the extremely arctic cold temperatures but were forced out of the building due to a collapse. FDNY Rescue 4 members rescued one person who is listed as critical at the moment at a local hospital. The fire quickly rose to three alarms with 140 or so firefighters on hand to fight it. The fire was declared under control around 9: 30 AM. Two firefighters suffered minor injures, one civilian suffered a minor injury and a second civilian is at a local hospital with critical injuries. The investigation into the cause is underway.
